Cash Counter (Rupee Notes)
Count the cash drawer at closing time. Type how many of each note and coin you have, and get the total in figures and words. Add the expected amount from your POS or register to see if cash is short or extra.
How to use the Cash Counter (Rupee Notes)
- Count each note and coin and type the number.
- Optionally enter the expected cash from your register.
- Read the total and any shortage or extra.
- Print the count for your records.
Formula
Example
12 × Rs 5000, 35 × Rs 1000 and 20 × Rs 500 make Rs 1,05,000. If the POS says Rs 1,05,500, the drawer is Rs 500 short.
A good closing routine
- Count cash at the same time every day
- Keep a fixed opening float, such as Rs 5,000 in change
- Record card, wallet and bank transfers separately
- Note any shortage with the cashier’s name the same day
Why shortages happen
Most shortages come from wrong change, sales not entered, refunds without a slip, or cash taken for shop expenses without a note. A POS that records every sale and expense makes the daily count match.
