Gas Bill Calculator 2026 (SNGPL and SSGC)
Work out your monthly Sui gas bill from the hm3 on your meter, using the current OGRA domestic rates for protected and non-protected homes, with fixed charges, meter rent and sales tax.
How to use the gas bill calculator
- Enter the gas used this month in hm3 (present reading minus previous reading, in hundreds of cubic metres).
- Choose protected or non-protected. Your bill says which one you are.
- If your bill shows an MMBTU factor, enter it. Otherwise leave it at 3.5.
How a gas bill is worked out
The gas company converts your hm3 into MMBTU and applies the slab rate. Domestic consumers get the benefit of one previous slab: gas up to the previous slab limit is charged at the previous rate, and only the rest at the current rate. Above 4 hm3 that benefit ends and all the gas is charged at Rs 4,200 per MMBTU. Then the fixed charge, Rs 40 meter rent and 18% sales tax are added.
Worked example
A non-protected home uses 1.2 hm3. The first 1 hm3 is charged at Rs 1,250 and the remaining 0.2 hm3 at Rs 1,450 per MMBTU. With a factor of 3.5 the gas costs Rs 5,390, plus Rs 1,500 fixed charge, Rs 40 meter rent and 18% sales tax, about Rs 8,177.

SNGPL and SSGC
SNGPL (Sui Northern) supplies Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, and SSGC (Sui Southern) supplies Sindh and Balochistan. Domestic prices are the same for both, so this calculator works for either company. To see your bill online, enter the consumer number printed on your bill on your company's website.
Ways to cut the winter gas bill
- Put the geyser on a timer or turn it on only when needed.
- Never run a gas heater all night in a closed room. Carbon monoxide can kill, so keep some ventilation.
- Check the meter near the end of the month to stay under the 1.5 hm3 line.
- Cook with lids on and keep the flame blue.

Frequently asked questions
What is the gas rate per unit in 2026?
For non-protected homes it runs from Rs 500 per MMBTU up to 0.25 hm3 to Rs 4,200 above 4 hm3. Protected homes pay Rs 200 to Rs 350 per MMBTU. These prices have applied since 1 July 2025 and were kept unchanged for 2026-27.
Who is a protected gas consumer?
A domestic consumer whose average monthly use in the previous winter (November to February) was 0.9 hm3 or less. Your bill shows whether you are protected.
Why is 1.51 hm3 so much more than 1.5 hm3?
Above 1.5 hm3 the fixed charge doubles from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 and the gas moves to the next slab. In our estimate 1.5 hm3 comes to about Rs 9,974 and 1.51 hm3 to about Rs 12,648.
Are SNGPL and SSGC rates the same?
Yes. Domestic sale prices are the same for both companies. SNGPL supplies Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, and SSGC supplies Sindh and Balochistan.
How is hm3 converted to MMBTU?
One hm3 is 100 cubic metres. The gas company converts it to MMBTU using the gas heating value (GCV) and a pressure factor, usually about 3.5 MMBTU per hm3. For an exact match, enter the factor from your bill.
