K-Electric, Karachi (K-Electric) supplies homes and businesses in Karachi and nearby areas such as Hub, Uthal, Vindar and Bela in Balochistan and Dhabeji and Gharo in Sindh. If K-Electric is printed at the top of your bill, this page is for you.
What K-Electric customers should know
K-Electric is a private company, but its residential customers are billed on the same uniform government tariff as the WAPDA companies, so the slab rates below apply in Karachi too. Fuel adjustments and other charges on K-Electric bills come from separate NEPRA decisions, so the extra lines on a Karachi bill can differ from a LESCO or MEPCO bill in the same month. Karachi homes with ACs often land in the 400 to 500 unit slabs.
Worked example
A non-protected home using 450 units with a 4 kW load pays 450 × Rs 38.95 = Rs 17,528 for energy, Rs 2,000 fixed charges and Rs 1,454 FC surcharge, then 18% sales tax, about Rs 24,758 before fuel and quarterly adjustments.
