Formula
Required = (target - current × (1 - weight)) ÷ weight
Example
With 84% now, a 25% final and a 90% target: (90 - 84 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = 108% - not possible. For an 88% you need 100%.

What if my teacher uses points?
Convert to percentages first: points earned ÷ points possible.
What if the result is over 100%?
The target is not reachable unless there is extra credit.
