Urdu Typing Pad
Write Urdu on any computer without installing a keyboard. The phonetic layout follows the sounds: type p for پ, k for ک, s for س and Shift for related letters such as T for ٹ and R for ڑ. How to use the Urdu Typing Pad
- Click in the box and type English letters - Urdu appears.
- Hold Shift for the second letter on a key (T = ٹ, D = ڈ, N = ں).
- Use the on-screen keyboard on a phone or tablet.
- Copy, share on WhatsApp or download your text.

Example
Typing s a l a m gives سلام, and x k r i o gives شکریہ (x = ش, o = ہ). Type m i r a, space, n a m for میرا نام.

Punctuation
Comma gives ، full stop gives ۔ and question mark gives ؟. Tick “Urdu numbers” to type ۱۲۳ instead of 123.

How do I type ھ for words like بھائی?
Press h after the letter for the do-chashmi he: b h a U i gives بھائی (Shift+U = ئ).
