Date & time

Business Days Calculator

Count working days for deadlines, payment terms, delivery estimates and notice periods. Find the business days between two dates, or add business days to a date, skipping weekends and (optionally) US federal holidays.

How to use the Business Days Calculator

  1. Choose between counting or adding.
  2. Enter the start date (and end date).
  3. Choose to skip US federal holidays.
  4. Read the result and the holidays skipped.

Formula

Business days = calendar days - weekend days - holidays

Example

Adding 10 business days to Wednesday, November 18, 2026 skips the weekend and Thanksgiving (November 26), giving Thursday, December 3, 2026.

US federal holidays

  • New Year's Day, MLK Day, Presidents' Day
  • Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day
  • Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving, Christmas Day

Common uses

  • Payment terms such as Net 15 or Net 30 business days on an invoice
  • Delivery estimates - “ships in 5-7 business days”
  • Notice periods and HR deadlines
  • Court, bank and visa processing times that count working days only

Working with Pakistan and the USA

This tool skips US federal holidays, which is useful when you work with American clients, banks or couriers. Pakistan has different public holidays, such as Kashmir Day, Pakistan Day, Labour Day, Independence Day and the two Eids. For a Pakistani deadline, untick US holidays and subtract local holidays yourself - the Soft2Cloud business calendar lists them.

A worked example

A US client pays invoices within 10 business days. If you send the invoice on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, the weekend and Thanksgiving are skipped, so payment is due by Thursday, December 3, 2026 - not November 28.
