A 32-year-old woman, 160 lb, 5 ft 6 in, lightly active: BMR about 1,450 kcal and TDEE about 2,000 kcal per day.
Healthy pace
A deficit of 250-500 calories a day leads to about 0.5-1 lb a week - a pace most health organizations consider safe. The tool never suggests going below 1,200 (women) or 1,500 (men) calories.
