Hourly to Salary Calculator

Turn an hourly rate into a yearly salary, or work backwards from a salary to an hourly rate. Change hours per week and weeks per year to match part-time work, unpaid time off or a 4-day week.

How to use the Hourly to Salary Calculator

  1. Enter the amount.
  2. Choose whether it is per hour, day, week, month or year.
  3. Set hours per week and paid weeks per year.
  4. See the pay for every period.

Formula

Yearly salary = hourly rate × hours per week × weeks per year Quick rule: hourly × 2,000 ≈ yearly salary (full time)

Example

$25 an hour × 40 hours × 52 weeks = $52,000 a year, or $2,000 every two weeks.

Quick conversion table

  • $15/hr ≈ $31,200/yr
  • $20/hr ≈ $41,600/yr
  • $25/hr ≈ $52,000/yr
  • $30/hr ≈ $62,400/yr
  • $40/hr ≈ $83,200/yr
  • $50/hr ≈ $104,000/yr

Comparing job offers

A salary of $55,000 with good health insurance and a 401(k) match can be worth more than $30 an hour with no benefits. Also compare paid time off.
